Volume 111, Issue 6, Pages 681-687 (June 2011) Cone-beam computerized tomography evaluation of condylar changes and stability following two-jaw surgery: Le Fort I osteotomy and mandibular setback surgery with rigid fixation  Yong-Il Kim, DDS, MSD, Bong-Hae Cho, DDS, MSD, PhD, Yun-Hoa Jung, DDS, MSD, PhD, Woo-Sung Son, DDS, MSD, PhD, Soo- Byung Park, DDS, MSD, PhD  Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Endodontics  Volume 111, Issue 6, Pages 681-687 (June 2011) DOI: 10.1016/j.tripleo.2010.08.001 Copyright © 2011 Mosby, Inc. Fig. 1 Condylar axis angles and anteroposterior condylar position in glenoid fossa on multiplanar reformation images. A, Sagittal condylar axis angle: angle between condylar long axis and Frankfort horizontal (FH) plane on sagittal plane—condylar long axis passing center of condyle neck to center of condyle head. B, Coronal condylar axis angle: angle between condylar long axis and FH plane on coronal plane—condylar long axis passing the ramus to the center of medial and lateral pole on the condyle. C, Axial condylar axis angle: angle between condylar axis and midsagittal reference plane on horizontal plane. D, Anterior, posterior, and superior spaces (AS, PS, SS, respectively) were measured from the most prominent anterior, posterior and superior points of the condyle to the glenoid fossa. This plane (parallel to the FH plane) was used as the reference plane. The lines tangent to the most prominent anterior and posterior aspects of the condyle were drawn from the most superior aspect of the genoid fossa on the reference plane.
