1 - Issuing regulations Transport of Radioactive Materials Law on Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (Off. Gazette of RS, No. 36/09 and 93/12) Art. 68 – Transport of Nuclear and other Radioactive Materials is performed in accordance with domestic regulations, international agreements and conventions Rulebook on conditions for obtaining licence to perform radiation practice (Off. Gazette of RS, No. 61/11) Art. 42 - Transportation approval from national competent authority is condition for issuing import, export or transit approval

2 - Monitoring of transport operations Republic of Serbia: Radioactive sources application: Medicine – around 20 facilities Industry – around 50 facilities Production – 1 facility Research – 4 facilities Directorate for Transportation of Dangerous Goods All transport issues Inspection Points of entry, exit and transit – main border crossings

3 - Import-export of radioactive materials Import/export/transit can be performed only by legal entity who has proper authorization (Law - Art. 65) For each import/export/transit approval is issued by SRPNA (Law – Art. 66) Export/import/transit application form is given in Rulebook on conditions for obtaining licence to perform radiation practice (Off. Gazette of RS, No. 61/11) Application form: Consignor and Consignee data Radioactive Material data (certificate) Modes of transport Route, Border Crossing, Dates Transport data (UN Number, Type of Package, Transport Index, Transport Category)

3 - Import-export of radioactive materials Inspection for Import/export/transit is in the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection – Inspection for Radiation Protection Transport inspection is in the Directorate for Transportation of Dangerous Goods

4 - Establishing responsibilities Directorate for Transportation of Dangerous Goods within Ministry of Transportation Responsible for all transport issues
