Agenda Welcome! Mission Statement What to Expect Guidelines Your WATCH D.O.G. Day Other Duties You May Be Asked to Do Finishing Your WATCH D.O.G. Day Parting Thoughts

Mission Statement Our Mission Statement from the National Center for Fathering and endorsed by the U.S. Departments of Education and Health and Human Services is: Improve the well-being of children by inspiring and equipping men to be more effectively involved in the lives of their children

All About WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Dads getting personally involved at school at least 1 day per year helps with: the kids feeling a sense of security; the kids seeing the priority you place on their education; the kids getting a different perspective… from a positive male role model; the dads getting to see their student’s everyday world and the things they face away from home; the dads gaining greater awareness of how they can impact their student’s life in academics, proper self esteem, and social behavior; and the dads and the kids actually have FUN!

What Did OUR WATCH DOGS SAY?

Why did you become a WATCH D.O.G.?

Will you recommend Watch D.O.G.S to someone?

Did you find WATCH D.O.G.S rewarding

Giving 'unsuspecting' kids a sticker The HIGHLIGHT of my WATCHDOG experience was: Seeing the pride my son had for me. Getting hugs from the kindergarteners at lunch (my son is 5th grader) :) Giving 'unsuspecting' kids a sticker Spending time with my three children and seeing how they interacted with their friends It felt amazing to be asked for high fives while I was just walking around the corridors and in the cafeteria. Watching the kids enjoying their time learning. The teachers are fantastic. Having the opportunity to interact with the kids. I had the opportunity to help in art, lunch and recess. I also was able to read a book to my son's class.

Being a part of morning announcements with my son! Great Program!!! Giving back to the community! Walking the kids from their art class back to their classroom and trying to figure out how to make my kids behave that well at home!!! The excitement of my children and how proud they were to have me here. The students all seem very excited to have me as well. Seeing the huge smile on my kindergartner's face when I walked into the room.
