FDI led export sector plays an important role High value exporting sector was key to supporting economy through restructuring. Current account essentially measures whether the country is paying its way in the world, i.e. exports larger than imports.

Economic Growth Irish growth forecast at 4.7% for 2014 - the fastest rate in Europe Unemployment, has now fallen for almost three years down to 10% from peak of 15.1% Labour market has added over 95,000 jobs since end 2012 Job growth is feeding through to tax, with income tax up 9% in 2014.
