Indiana Academic Standard in Mathematics Strand - Geometry 3. G.1 Identify and describe the following: cube, sphere, prism, pyramid, cone and cylinder Strand- Measurement 3.M.2 Choose and use appropriate units and tool to estimate and measure length, weight, and temperature. Estimate and measure length to a quarter-inch, weight in pounds and temperature in degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Materials List 1 index card – 5x8 2 pieces of red construction paper 12X18 1 brown construction paper rectangle 6x2 1 compass Scissors Glue/glue cup glue stick

Directions 1. Fold the 2 large pieces of red paper in half “Hot Dog way”.

2. Draw a circle with a 2 inch radius on the white index card. 3. Cut out the circle. 4. Fold the circle in half (like a taco) 5. Fold it in half again like a piece of pizza.

Open the circle to look like a taco and draw a line 1 ½ inches out from the center of the pizza piece. Trace the opened circle at the top of the orange construction paper. 8. Cut out the circles

Draw a dot 1 ½ inches from the top of the green rectangle Fold on the dot. L Cut 2 “slices” off either side and curl. Fold one circle in half and glue the L to the top of the circle. Pick up 3 circles and fold them in half together into tacos. Stuff into the pattern Cut through all 4 circles on the line Continue until all circles are cut. Slide each cut circle onto the circle with the L.
