Mrs. Saunders will assign partners. choose which of you will read first. Swap Reading Fluency Assessments Write your name on the back of your partner’s assessment sheet. Reader #1 will read from the “Student Copy” Mrs. Saunders will say “ready, start” and time you for 1 minute.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE READER The reader should read the copy through quietly, just loud enough for your partner to hear. If you make a mistake, stop and reread it correctly. Don’t rush too quickly, but do your best to read fluently. When I say “Stop” finish the sentence you are on and then stop. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE LISTENER Listen closely to your partner as they read. If they make a mistake and DO NOT correct themselves, draw a line through the word. If they leave a word out, draw a line through that word.
