Tri-Axial Testing Process & Tasks Map Sample Preparation Test to be performed Number of samples per tests Mixing Conditioning Curing Type of Molds Mold Preparation Sample Qa/Qc Sample Dimensions Sample Tolerances Sample Marking Sample Storage Sample Coring/End Dressing Perform Test Equipment Requirements, Pre-Test Calibration Type of Load Frame, Load Cell Platen, Load Cell QA/QC Temperature, Confining Pressure Axial Loading, Number of Cycles Evaluation Young’s Modulus Poisson’ Ratio Friction Angle Acoustic Measurements versus Load Frame Testing Report Generation

Mechanical Testing Program – Phase 1 Participating Laboratories Baker Hughes, Chevron, CSI, Halliburton, OFITE, Schlumberger, Trican, CURISTEC Base Slurry Design Class G and fresh water Medium weight slurry (Class G & Poz blend) & Lightweight designs was discussed, decision was to defer until conclusion of Class G & Water testing.

Mechanical Testing Program – Phase 1 Curing Temperature = 50 deg. C Curing Pressure = 3000 psi Curing Time = 14 days Temperature and pressure be reduced over a 72 hour period to minimize induced stress on the samples. Confining Pressures All Labs are to test using the following confining pressures 250 psi, 500 psi, and 1000 psi. Test Specimens should adhere to a 2:1 ratio (length to diameter)

Mechanical Testing Program – Phase 1 Labs are to follow their established testing procedures All labs have the freedom to add additional confining pressures beyond the three required pressures stated above. Tests results can be submitted as well. All tests will be tested under a “drained condition”. Labs have freedom to test under an “un-drained condition” as well and test results can be submitted Phase 1 Testing Deadline: April 01, 2017

Workgroup 2016 Highlights Workgroup members increase = 63% Action Items completed = 96% 2016 Workgroup meetings = 5 Positive participation in all meetings Average participation = 10 (56%) Laboratory testing has started Phase 1 testing will identify if additional testing is needed

2017 Action Plan Item # Description Plan Date Responsible 1 Phase 1 Tri-axial load cell testing completed 3/31/17 Participating Labs 2 Phase 1 Data Analysis & Identification if additional testing is required 4/30/17 Workgroup 3 Begin Draft of Workgroup report and testing process Axel-Pierre Bois 4 Distribute Draft of workgroup report and testing process 5/30/17 5 Workgroup return draft with comments, edits and recommendations 6/30/17 6 Phase 2 Tri-axial load cell testing (if required) completed and data submitted 7/30/17 7 Draft 2 completed and submitted to workgroup for review and comments 8/30/17 8 Final document and process recommendation submitted to workgroup for review, etc. 9/30/17 9 Submit a standardized process to be incorporated into the existing TR related to “Mechanical Behavior of Cement” Jan. 2018

Identified Risks Completion of tri-axial testing on time Data analysis indicates extensive testing is required Document generation and review. Workgroup agreement/consensus Time requirements

Acknowledgements Baker Hughes, CSI, and OFITE for sponsoring conference rooms and call-in numbers Dyckerhoff Cement – for supplying cement samples and shipping to labs John Buflod – API Sharepoint Support Workgroup members for their time, expertise and active participation.

Thank you and Questions

Minutes: 10:45 Session called to order A. Badalamenti presented recap for: 2016 activities, 2017 phase 1 testing plan and action plan Discussion items Phase 1 testing regime, report standardization and data analysis Matthew Goodine asked about allowing each lab to use their processes for testing regime – A.B explained that a standardized process will be used to prepare the cement slurry, cure, depressurize/cool the sample, etc. Load frame loading and testing will be as per each labs’ processes and procedures

Minutes: Discussion items James Heathman asked how would the test data would be collected and analyzed – Axel Bois explained that the “raw test” data would be used Rick Lukay – suggested that a standardized test report be created to ensure that all needed data is collected and received – Anthony and Axel will generate the test report and distribute it to the lab. James Heathman suggested that each lab use the same cement design Maggie Benge - explained that a standard slurry design is being developed and sent to each participating lab. Rick Lukay – motion for session closure – motion was seconded, no objections. – meeting adjoined 11:10 am.
