Items For Secure Media Recycling Bins Secure Media Recycling & IT Hardware Disposal Why is secure recycling & disposal important? Old electronics can contain an abundance of sensitive data. Normal trash bins and dumpsters do not provide any security for the materials within. Anyone can take hardware or media out of the trash and extract data if it is not properly wiped. How do I get rid of my old media & IT hardware? Where can I find secure media recycling bins? Electronic devices and media storage can be placed in secure media recycling bins located across the main campus. Larger IT hardware must be scheduled for pickup through Brigham’s HIS Department (617-732-5927) or the PHS Warehouse to remove. Pickup occurs on a weekly basis.
