“The Tell-Tale Heart” Edgar Allan Poe Before reading The Tell-Tale Heart create a crossword puzzle. Follow the directions below to complete the activity. Read over the ten vocabulary words on page 536 in the Holt textbook. Come up with your own synonyms for the ten vocabulary words. You should have a total of twenty words, ten vocabulary words and ten synonyms. Come up with clues for each word to use in the puzzle. Once you have your twenty clues go to http://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com/CrissCrossSetupForm.asp to create your crossword puzzle. Your puzzle will have ten clues across and ten clues down. Follow the steps listed on the above website then press create puzzle. Turn crossword puzzle into the class appropriate box. This task uses: Common Core/NG Standard(s): L.8.2 - Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
