Derby Junior Football League Respect Briefing Notes Thursday 10th Sept 2015 Rolls-Royce Social Club Derby Junior Football League

What we can do!

Remember we are role models!! CODE OF CONDUCT At each of our venues we expect; All adults to applaud good play from both sides. No bad language from any individual. Sporting behavior from all participants. All referees to be supported at all times. High standards of behaviour and appearance at all times. Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally. CHILDREN should not be shouted at or scolded by anyone. Remember we are role models!!

We operate designated spectator areas at all venues.

RESPECT ROPES Everyone must stand behind the Respect line (the rope). This includes Team Managers and Coaches. No one must stand where there is no barrier. No one is allowed to support their team from behind the goal-line. The line must be placed at least two yards from the pitch. Parents and Team Officials must stand on separate sides of the pitch. This means all parents from both teams standing together. Where pitches run back-to-back, the same technical area will be shared by both matches (see previous slide). The whole of the coaches’ side will be regarded as the Technical Area under the Laws Of The Game.

Derby Junior Football League RESPECT ROPES Team managers are responsible for ensuring Respect Ropes are put up and that everyone stands in the correct place. Derby Junior Football League

Respect Ambassadors The League has implemented Respect Ambassadors in order to improve the effectiveness of RESPECT policies. Every team must allocate a Respect Ambassador to every match. They must be clearly identified (bib/arm band).

The respect ambassador will; Not be a manager/coach or linesman. Be visible and approachable throughout the match. Welcome the match officials to the game and introduce them to the manager. Home team respect ambassador to ensure the referee is paid before the game. Introduce themselves to the opposing teams respect ambassador. Ensure all the respect ropes are in place and everyone is stood in the correct place. Ensure the respect handshake takes place before the match begins. Report any issues at the game to the manager. Be able to stand either side of the pitch (No one is permitted behind the goals). Ensure after the game there is no litter left and equipment is packed away (if the last kick off).

Respect Officer The League this season is introducing a designated Respect Officer. This will be Lynsey Parker. This role will include; Being a direct point of contact for all Respect Ambassadors, managers and referees who can report positive and areas of concern each week. Observe and monitor games and report back to the management committee of any discipline issues. Working alongside the league welfare officer.
