ABOUT SPIFFest is an annual event occurring in San Pedro, California where the entertainment and digital tech industries are front and center for the thousands of people who attend this Los Angeles based event. Known for attracting a diverse demographic, SPIFFest offers filmmakers an opportunity to screen their new features, shorts and web-series in a juried setting. Technology companies bring the latest in products to demonstrate to a captivated audience, including student populations. While musicians and local artists provide the soundtrack and backdrop for the festival. Lastly, social media correspondents are on site to promote through social channels the events as they happen and conduct interviews with the talent and sponsors.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS OPENING NIGHT THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2017 Opening night includes a pre- film screening media event to celebrate VIPs and the sponsors of the festival. Red Carpet with Step and Repeat will be available with media coverage. Film screening for opening night will include Q and A with filmmakers and talent Post- screening party will conclude the evening Opening night will coincide with the special San Pedro community event – “FIRST THURSDAY” – where local artists, musicians and foods are spotlighted during this event.

TECH THURSDAY A whole day dedicated to technology and how film impacts the use of tech and vice-versa. Learn from leading tech experts and see the latest in technolgy – especially being used in the entertainment and ecology industries!

FRIDAY the 13th and Saturday the 14th – FRIGHT FEST! This year SPIFFest is adding two days dedicated to the horror genre. With leading horror filmmakers, actors and musicians to help make this one spooky weekend! Friday will be a special film screening – stay tuned! Saturday will include several film screenings and panels during the day with a spooktacular screening at night.
