Compound sentence

Compound sentence A sentence consists of two simple sentences joined together by a comma and a coordinating conjunction. (From Oshima and Hogue (1999). Writing academic English. White Plains, NY. Longman. pp 152 – 177) Women love to watch soccer match, for they admire the players. Women join health club, and they tend to practice regularly. Men play soccer, but women prefer futsal.
