Why do you look for the living Luke 24:1-35 Why do you look for the living among the dead?   He is not here; he has risen! Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Luke 24 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen!

Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” 8 Then they remembered his words. 9 When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. 11 But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense.

12 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb 12 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened. 13 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16 but they were kept from recognizing him.

28 As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. 29 But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them. 30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them.31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

33 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem 33 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together 34 and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” 35 Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.

Why do you look for the living Luke 24:1-35 Why do you look for the living among the dead?   He is not here; he has risen! Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

“as the cross is the payment, so the resurrection is God’s receipt” He Has Risen! “as the cross is the payment, so the resurrection is God’s receipt” Why do you look for the living among the dead?   He is not here; he has risen!

He Has Risen! “the stone was not rolled away so that Jesus could get out; the stone was rolled away so that people could see in” Why do you look for the living among the dead?   He is not here; he has risen!

Why do you look for the living Luke 24:1-35 Why do you look for the living among the dead?   He is not here; he has risen! Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Mark 16 9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. 11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it. 12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. 13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either. 14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating

Matt 28 8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.” Mark 16 9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.

John 20 12 [Mary] saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot…  14 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus… 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”). 17 Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

1 Peter 3:7  Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

1 Peter 3:7  Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. 2 Peter 3:16 His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures

John 20:17 “Go instead to my brothers and tell them” Acts 2:17-18 ‘In the last days, God says,     I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy,     your young men will see visions,     your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. John 20:17 “Go instead to my brothers and tell them”

Luke 24 13 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem… 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them… 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. Mark 16 12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country.
