Digitization Winterfield University Library (WUL) Propose to digitize this unique and valuable collection Rationale: Preserve the valuable resources Increase access to the collection - anywhere anytime remotely, fulltext searching Uniqueness of the History & Culture collections makes the library special Enhance the virtual presence of the library One of the finest research collections in the republic, including materials on the history and culture of San Serrifee not available elsewhere. Propose to digitize this unique and valuable collection   Rationale: Preserve the valuable resources Increase access to the collection - anywhere anytime remotely, fulltext searching Highlight the uniqueness and make the library special Enhance the virtual presence of the library Transformation: Digital version of the collection -> Increase accessibility e.g. Open access or in-house access by visitors -> improve the image of the Library (willing to share the finest collection), and also the image of the university Resources implication: Recruiting digital scholarship librarian with some IT support staff? Copyright assessment - address this issue early in the selection process A working group or committee with members from different departments of the library should also be set up. Outsourcing to a company that can provide special scanning tools or other IT support. Expertise - reaching out and work with faculty and students from architecture, journalism and computer departments expertise in design and architecture, promotion and marketing, building games. The project being part of students' course assignments.
