The Kingdom of God

The Kingdom of God Both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament the term "kingdom" (malkut and basileia) is understood as dynamic in nature and refers primarily to the rule or reign of a king. It is seldom used in a static sense to refer to a territory.

The Kingdom of God In the vast majority of instances it would be better to translate the expression "kingdom of God" as the "rule of God."

The Kingdom of God THEME VERSE “This, then, is how you should pray:“ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9  

 In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Matthew 3:1-2. 

 Then Jesus ministry began: From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Matthew 4:17.

 And it ended the same way After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. Act 1:3

 Paul continued this emphasis,  Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God. Acts 19:8

 James said,  Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? James 2:5

Revelation – the end of this time The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.” Revelation 11:15

 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. Revelation 12:10

 The Kingdom is the central theme of the ministry of the Lord Jesus

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven  “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3

 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 

 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Matthew 12:28

 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:24

 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Matthew 13:10-11

 But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” Luke 4:43

 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ Luke 10:9

The kingdom of God is also the central teaching of the Old Testament.

 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Daniel 7:14

 After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, Luke 8:12

 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Matthew 4:17
