Letters & Sounds Phase 2 Learning 31 phonemes/sounds– 4 sounds per week Blending (putting sounds together to read) Segmenting (splitting word into component sounds to write) Key words (some phonetic and some tricky) *Progress through the phases (3, 4 and 5 will vary dependent on which group/level your child is working at)

Reading at Home IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE! Home readers are at a level of 95+% accuracy rate, therefore should be fluent (rehearsal) Your child will read at a level above (90% accuracy) in school during guided reading sessions
