What is the Athlete Development Program? Is a program targeted at aspiring athletes with a passion for sport and a desire to achieve the best that they can both do in their sport and at school. ADP Athlete Development Modified Curriculum
What are the aims of the Athlete Development Program To provide students with a program that allows them to develop both the characteristics, and an understanding of what it takes to be a successful athlete. To provide students with a professional training environment. To engage students in their studies by tailoring a curriculum around the students interests.
How will it run? Students in the ADP will be grouped into a home group. English, Maths, Science and Humanities will partake in the modified curriculum. Students will complete a regular Year 9 timetable, however, they will partake in a exclusive 3 period elective in which they will undergo a strength and conditioning program along with theory sessions.
Electives Maximum 4 PASE – 2 will be taken as the ADP Min 1 ART Year 9 students need to select 9 electives; Maximum 4 PASE – 2 will be taken as the ADP Min 1 ART Min 3 Technology
Athlete Development Athlete Development involves the development of the knowledge of what is required to be an elite athlete. Students are taught about the following; Various training methods Resistance training technique Leadership in sport Nutrition Psychology of elite athletes Goal Setting

How do I get a spot in the program? Students need to submit an application form to the Middle School Office by Friday 4 August. Students will undergo a fitness testing session on Monday 7 August at lunchtime.
Student Expectations Students will be up to date with all work tasks across all subjects. Students will maintain adherence to the schools behaviour and discipline expectations. Students will participate in every session involved in the Athlete Development Program. Students will be required to represent the school in two out of the three carnivals; Athletics, Cross Country or Swimming. Students will be required to represent the school in their chosen sport.
