DALI Scene Controller HDL-MC-DALI.431
DALI Introduction HDL-MC-DALI.431 Functions: Gateway between HDL Buspro system and DALI Ballast Max. 64 channel DALI ballasts can be connected to this module With scene control Maximum 16 separate areas, supports area dimming Each area has 16 scenes and maximum scenes running time is 90.51s. Wiring
DALI address\Patch Step1- Check that the DALI bus and Luminaires are working Use the 'All lights are flickering' setting to see that the DALI bus is connected to all the expected luminaires
DALI address\Patch Step2- Check and initialize the Patch Click on Patch and then initialize the patch - check that all numbers correlate all the way to 64channels. Channels in HDL directly correlate to Addresses in DALI
DALI address\Patch Step3- Address the DALI Devices If it is a new installation use “Initialization” to set all of the addresses, the DALI ballasts will be addressed randomly. When the addressing is finished you will see all the addresses in the blue section. Step4- Check the address of each device Use the option “The designated lights with DALi Address are flickering” to make each address flash. Go through every address one at a time and write on your floor layout to show which luminaire has which address.
Area Setup Step5- Configure Areas (Groups) Configure areas and add channels to your areas. Areas in HDL directly correlate to groups in DALi 1. Click ”area setup” Channels in the area 2. select current area 4. Channels waiting for assignment 5. Add channel to or delete channel from current area. 3. create area When you are configuring areas – after clicking on save you will actually send the group settings to the DALi ballasts
Channel Step6- Configure Channels Check and configure the settings for all channels. Intensity during system failure: DALI devices intensity after power on:
Scene Step7- Configure Scenes. 1. select area 2. input scene no., key in a start scene and end scene according to your needs 3. scene remark 4. scene setup
Scene Setup 3. set up each channel’s status 2. set up scene running time - the transient time before reaching the preset level. 4. save the scene 1. click the scene setup
Scene Restore Select a scene for scene restore when power on.
DALI Status This tab shows the status of each ballast which is connected to the DALI. a) Ballast status: this is to check the status of the ballast whether it works normal or not b) Load status: this displays the status of the loads (lights) which is connected to the ballast whether it works fine or in fault. c) Lights ON/OFF: whether the lights are on or off d) In the range of brightness: this function is useless for now. e) Dimming: when you send dimming command to specific ballast, this shows whether the dimming process is complete or not
Controlling Step8- Controlling You can control the DALi devices using any of the standard HDL commands: Single Channel Command to set a single DALi device Scene Command to set a Group to a specific scene The DALI64 supports direct DALi group control. By using HDL single channel commands you can set or dim a whole Area / Group of ballasts. To directly control a whole area or group use channels 65 to 80, these are mapped to the DALi Groups 0 to 15
Emergency or Fire Mode Emergency or Fire Mode The function of this mode is: 1. Set all ballast on a per area basis to 100% when there is an emergency – for example used in a hospital when there is a fire alarm to assist with evacuation. 2. When the fire alarm is cleared each ballast returns to the setting it had before the emergency. Universal switches are used to set the emergency mode on or off on an area by area basis.
Emergency or Fire Mode For example: Area 1 contains channels 1, 2, 7 and 8 Area 2 contains channels 3, 4, 5 and 20 Current settings are: 1- 80%, 2 - 100%, 7 - 0%, 8 - 80%; 3 - 45%, 4 - 80%, 5 - 100%, 20 - 100%. Set universal switch 1 “on” (makes Area 1 go to emergency mode) 1, 2, 7 and 8 all go to 100% 3, 4, 5 and 20 do not change Set universal switch 1 “off” (makes Area 1 return to previous settings) Channels in area 1 go to Channels in area 2:
