It’s a Big Beautiful World! Think of all the beautiful places you’ve been and seen: the deep blue sea, the mighty mountains, the wide open fields and the thick green forests. Think of the amazing creatures that live all over our planet: the majestic lions, delicate butterflies, snowy white polar bears and curious foxes. Don’t forget Sal the Salamander!

Did you know, as Catholics, it is our responsibility to do what we can to care for our big beautiful Earth?

Yes! It’s even part of something we call Catholic Social Teaching which guides how we lead our lives as Catholics in our world. Our Bishops have written, “We show our respect for the Creator by our stewardship of creation. Care for the earth is … a requirement of our faith. We are called to protect people and the planet, living our faith in relationship with all of God’s creation.” When we care for our planet we are showing our respect and love for God.

Catholic Social Teaching Catholic Social Teaching tells us it is our duty to Care for God’s Creation, our planet Earth. It is our Common Home.
