Class of 2018 Ring Ceremony Procedures

Prior to entering the ceremony Everyone is encouraged to be at Ferguson by 5:30pm. Traffic and parking will be crazy so give yourselves plenty of time. Please be sure that you have your name card. Name cards will be distributed on Tuesday, March 14th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m in auditorium lobby. You will need the name card to receive your ring and your name will be called by the speaker using this name card as well. Students will wait in the cafeteria until led into the ceremony. If you have family members who require special accommodations (i.e. elderly, handicapped etc.) we ask that you arrive early to give us time to seat them.

Prior to entering the ceremony Each student whose ring is paid in full will receive 2 complimentary tickets for their guests. Tickets will be given out, during lunch only, in auditorium lobby on Tuesday, March 14th, 2017. Extra tickets for students who accomplished magazine goals will be available March 14 in the auditorium lobby during both lunches only. 5 magazines = 1 ticket, 10 magazines = 2 tickets etc. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. Please make sure your guests are seated by this time if not they will be held outside until the processional is over.

Prior to entering the ceremony If you purchased a ring from another vendor besides Herf Jones, you must show proof of purchase by March 13th 2017 to Mr. Provenzo in room 132, otherwise your will not be able to participate in the ceremony. You will be able to purchase your tickets on March 14th for five dollars. You will only be able to purchase two tickets. If you are unable to purchase your tickets during lunch because you attend FIU’s dual enrollment program, you will be able to purchase your tickets at 5:30pm on March 16th in the cafeteria. Sales will end at 6pm so please be prompt.

Pictures A professional photographer will be taking random candid pictures throughout the ceremony. These pictures will be available online for viewing at www.facebook.com/hjmiami the following Monday. When on facebook look for your school’s name. After the ceremony there will be a backdrop located outside for you to take pictures in front of with your family.

Dress Code – Girls Attire should be Semi formal and in keeping with the occasion. If you can’t walk in 5 inch heels, don’t wear them, trust us, it isn’t pretty. Keep it classy!! If your skirt is so tight that you can’t even sit down in it you probably shouldn’t be wearing it. We don’t need or want to see ALL your beauty, your smile is more than enough. We reserve the right to withhold any student who is not dressed in accord with our standards. Be smart, don’t test us!!

Dress Code - Boys Semi formal attire includes dress pants and button down shirts. Jeans are not allowed at all! T shirts are not allowed at all! Sneakers are not allowed at all! Tucking in your shirt will not kill you, neither will wearing a tie. If you’re wearing suspenders, you don’t need a belt. Dress your best, this is a chance to impress the ladies! As previously stated we reserve the right to withhold any student who is not dressed in accord with our standards. Be smart, don’t test us!!
