Program Philosophy Help each athlete develop their skills and put them in positions that will be successful to the best of their ability. To have fun and have the athletes develop a love for the game of basketball. Learn about the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Give positive reinforcement based on effort not results. Provide a safe environment for every athlete on the team. Make sure that the athletes understand that family comes first, and then grades, and finally basketball is last.

Expectations Student-athletes are students first and academics come first. If a student becomes ineligible they must put school first and will be asked to complete work in any way they can to bring up their grade. Practice will not take place for them until eligible (“study tables”) Effort is key to the improvement of our players. 110% is expected at every practice and game. Playing time is coach’s discretion. Be at all practices and games both mentally and physically. Represent Tinley Park High School and our girls’ basketball program in a mature, respectful, responsible manner. WORK ETHIC IS NOT ONLY SHOWN ON THE BASKETBALL COURT, BUT ALSO IN THE CLASSROOM AND ALL ASPECTS OF A STUDENT-ATHLETE.

Attendance/Eligibility Unexcused missed practice will result in loss of playing time, missed instruction, and skill development. This may include, but is not limited to: 3 strikes rule – Each unexcused missed practice results in a strike. Each time that student athlete will be warned and spoken with. If that student reaches 3 strikes, she may be asked to leave the team/program. Being a part of the Lady Titan Girls Basketball program is a privilege and attendance is Passing 5 classes each week Passing 5 classes for the whole semester to be eligible for next semester 3 week rule: If an athlete is ineligible for 3 weeks in a row, she is subject to removal from the team/program.
