Nordic web meeting Copenhagen 10-11 February 2011
How are we organised?
Status and challenges New ssb.no Reorganisation 2010 Two major challenges: Daily work at a time when we are working on and awaiting the launch of the new ssb.no The expertise portfolio now and in the future New ssb.no This project is very extensive and demanding. Several new systems are being developed: table builder, which retrieves data from the statistics bank and presents it in context, the statistics register, which organises all of our statistics by frequency, owner, contact persons etc. Reorganisation 2010 The division underwent a comprehensive reorganisation in 2011. Parts of the old Seksjon for redaksjon og mediekontakt were incorporated into the division. Personnel working on the content of the website (in connection with text and structure) were made part of my division. Medie contact was placed under Staff. I invite input here from meeting participants on how they organise their media work and how they cooperate in the media work. The new division is large, and is therefore divided into groups with group leaders. The group leaders do not have any personnel responsibilities; the division head is responsible for this. Two major challenges Daily work at a time when we are working on and awaiting the launch of the new ssb.no. Prosjektet har direkte følge for seksjonen ved at flere av våre medarbeidere er med på sprintene, i.e. we do not have less resources than usual Prosjektet har indirekte følge for seksjonen ved at all utvikling på eksisterende web er stanset. This is a problem when the project lasts over several years. Keep the morale up. Expertise portfolio now and in the future I am very interested in hearing what the other Nordic countries’ plans are here! Our changeover to the new ssb.no will be from a script-based manual system to a more automated CMS system. This means that a number of personnel will have expertise that is not in demand. The reorganisation from html programming and script running to being an advisor on textual content and web dissemination is not generally easy. Expertise in the following will be important in the future: information architecture, user behaviour and web analysis writing for the web and editorial assessment Solotion: No one needs to be an expert in all areas. (but one ore more areas) we need to piont out the ereas we want to have a focus on More flexible budgets will be needed so that consultants can be hired in certain areas.
Table builder – a tool to show figures from the StatBank in context More than 2 500, perhaps 3 000 tables… Organisation of the work aimed at helping the divisions to enter accurate and sufficient data in the statistics bank. attachment
