Account registration If you are the first time to submit online to JMS, you have to register first by clicking “Register here” at the right of the below picture

Account registration During account creation, you may be given the option to associate an ORCID iD with your account by either registering for a new ORCID iD or associating and existing ORCID iD. Each of these options will be presented to you as links in the first step of the account creation process.

Account registration When you select one of these options to associate an ORCID iD with your account, a new browser window will open and special registration page on the ORCID website allowing the user to enter your existing ORCID credentials, link an existing ORCID iD, or register for a new ORICID iD.

Account registration If you click Authorize, you will be redirected back to your journal’s ScholarOne site with a validated ORCID iD.

Account registration Continue to fill the required contents and click “Next”

Account registration Fill in password twice. Password must contain both numbers and letters.

Account management : Log in If you have already created an account , you can input your User ID &Password and click the Log In button.

Account management: Forgot Password? If you forget your Password, input your email address you have once registered, and click Go. Your Password will be emailed to your email box immediately.

Change User ID/Password & Account Information -1 To keep your account information current, click on your name and select the area you need to update.

Account management: Change User ID/Password & Account Information-2 When you login for the first time, you may be prompted to fill in the remaining required fields for your account. Simply go through the “Edit My Account” Screens, fill in the remaining required fields, and click on the Finish button on the last screen.

Main menu After logging in, the Welcome page opens. Select the link to enter the Dashboard.

Dashboard The Author Dashboard is where you begin the manuscript submission process. Also, at a glance, you can track the status and view the details of all your manuscripts.

Manuscript submission process To begin the submission process, select here in your dashboard’s Author Resources section.

Manuscript submission process You must follow instructions carefully when submitting manuscripts. Journal-required fields are denoted by a red asterisk.

Step1 – Type, Title AND Abstract(1) Click to see a preview of the entered text Click to add special characters and formatting to the text Type: Select from available manuscript types. Types are determined by the journal and may vary. Selecting a type determines what information you are required to enter throughout the submission process. Once saved, you cannot change the type.  Title: Enter a manuscript title.

Step1 – Type, Title AND Abstract(2) If present, enter a short title Enter the abstract

Step2 – Keywords AND Specialty Click the Add button Keywords for the submitted manuscript and its specialty are required for your manuscript submission.

Step3 – Authors AND Institutions(1) Enter or confirm your name and institution information and add all co-authors and their information.

Step3 – Authors AND Institutions(2) To add co-author information to the manuscript submission, enter the Author’s email address and click the Search button. Please note that authors may have several email addresses and you may need to search using an alternate email address.

Step3 – Authors AND Institutions(3) If no matching email address is found, the message below will display. To add the co-author you must create the author. Click the Create New Co-Author link in the message.

Step3 – Authors AND Institutions(4) The Create new Author screen displays. Complete all the required fields to identify both the author and the institution they are affiliated with.

Step3 – Authors AND Institutions(5) Added authors display. You may re-order them by dragging the double-arrow at the left of the author information. You may also use the numbers in the Order column to re-order then click the Update Author Order button.

Step3 – Authors AND Institutions(6) Select the Actions drop-down list to edit, remove, and assign as a corresponding author.

Click the Add Reviewer button. Step4 – Reviewers(1) Click the Add Reviewer button. Add a Reviewer: Enter information in the fields. You must add at least three reviewers’ information.

Step4 – Reviewers(2) Complete the Add a Reviewer screen.

A minimum of 3 recommended reviewers is required. Step4 – Reviewers(3) A minimum of 3 recommended reviewers is required.

Step5 – Details AND Comments(1) Cover Letter: A cover letter is a must for authors submitting to the JMS. Enter it in the Write Cover Letter field. You may type or copy/paste into the Write cover letter field. •Upload a file. Click the Select File button to browse to your cover letter file. Then click the Attach File button.

Step6 – File Upload(1) In this step you will upload all of your manuscript files.

Step6 – File Upload(2) Click the Select File 1 button. Browse for your main document file. Click the Select File 2 button. Browse for your title page file. Note: The size of each file should be with no more than 20M.

Step7 – Review AND Submit(1) This is a final review step before submitting your manuscript. All sections must display the green checkmark in the navigation menu before you can submit to complete the submission process.

Step7 – Review AND Submit(2) Review each section carefully for accuracy and completeness.

Step7 – Review AND Submit(3) If required fields have not been completed, you will receive an error at the top of the screen and the left menu will not display a green check next to the step. You may return to any step to correct errors by clicking the Step number on the error message or on the left menu.

Step7 – Review AND Submit(4) You will see a message indicating that you are almost done. When you first enter this screen, the Submit button is not available. You must review your submission and view the proof before submitting.

Step7 – Review AND Submit(5) Review the HTML and/or PDF versions of your submission. Note: The Submit button will not be active until you have viewed the proof and fixed all errors.

Step7 – Review AND Submit(6) All sections must display the green checkmark before you can select “submit” to complete the submission process. Click Yes to confirm the submission.

That’s the end of your submission!
