Xbox Original Xbox Xbox 360 Xbox One Overview – “Originally thought to be the “DirectX Box” the console was intended to be the first game system built like a PC and to bring all of the flexibility and power of a gaming rig to the console market”(Rick Marshall). Original Xbox Xbox 360 Software – The original Xbox was made to run on Windows 2000, but that wasn’t the end Steve Jobs followed showing the system at event to tell everyone it would also use Mac OS. Following that it was the first console to have a hard drive the ability to rip music from CDs, and real-time Dolby Digital sound. The big thing missing was the online game play which was introduce later but mostly featured on the Xbox 360. Business - Microsoft was mainly considered about the $299 price tag but that was easily put to rest with over one million flying off the shelves in the first three weeks. But was brought back to life when only 123k sold in Japan it started to hault, so they cut the price by $100 barely making any profit they needed something newer and better therefore brought the 360 to life. Software – The big thing of the Xbox 360 was its recording software which gave it the ability to connect more with the gamer . This software would capture the gamer by a series or joint points on them. This gave them the ability of the Wii but in their console. This console also gave built in wifi and a larger harddrive . Business – The console flew off the shelves with around 75 million units sold. Out selling all consoles except the Wii by about 25 million Xbox One Software – The One had the most updates ever and the most use of the kinect. The kinect would allow the user to give the Xbox commands like siri on the iphone. But that wasn’t the end it also allowed users to access thnere TV from there Xbox, and the ability to multi task by snapping into a split screen of whatever the user liked while still gaming. That still wasn’t the end no need to go to the store to get a game when you can simply download it to your Xbox and play straight from your console. Business – There is not much about the business side of the console it has confirmed of selling over 2 million units in the first 18 days , but since they are also the owners the game Halo and with its new release coming out soon that could boost their sales a ton to top the sales market of all consoles. In more Microsoft has not commercialized the Xbox One as much as the PS4 due to the fact their major game is not on the market.
