Pre-Reading Activities 7.3 “Glory Road” Pre-Reading Activities

Introduction: You will be working to complete the introductory activities that will give you the background knowledge necessary to understand the deeper meaning of the screenplay, “Glory Road.” On the surface, the script is about basketball in the 1960’s, but underneath the surface are many themes that have deeper meaning. Once you complete all of the activities, we will begin reading, Glory Road!

Activity 1: Story and Theme Impression Read The Sneetches, by Dr. Seuss and watch the movie by clicking on the links below: Read The Sneetches Watch Sneetches Movie Read The Southpaw, by Judith Viorst: http://www.readbag.com/blogs-muskegonisd-geigerr-files-2009- 10-the-southpaw-by-judith-viorst Based on the two readings and the video, what do you infer this drama and its theme will be mainly about?
