Websites National Geographic GeoSpy Geography Game for Kids http://www.nationalgeographic.com/geospy Play the continents hangman game with the link below; http://www.quia.com/hm/46193.html Take a quiz about the seven continents and oceans http://www.lizardpoint.com/fun/geoquiz/index.html Different levels of questions about world geography http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/World_Continents.htm Quiz your knowledge on the seven continents. http://www.nordicsoftware.com/activitytree/library/con_qu iz.shtml Insert a map of your country.

Activity #1 The students will create the world. Give balloons to students to blow up. They should tie a knot in it. Tell the students that the knot is the South Pole. Have students draw a small X at the top of the balloon with marker. Tell the students the X is the North Pole. Trace a line around the middle of the balloon to represent the equator. Give the students cut-out continents to trace on their balloons. Discuss the location of the continents using the equator as a guide. Which continents are above the equator? Which are below the equator? Which continents does the equator run through? Add key points in the history of your country to the timeline.

Activity #2 Create a seven continents book. Each page has a picture of the continent. The students will write one or two sentences about what they learned. Insert a picture illustrating a custom or tradition here.

Activity #3 Have the students look at a world map. Let them become familiar where each continent is located. Seven students will come to the front of the classroom to represent the continents. The rest of the class will help place the students(continents) in the correct place as if they were looking at a map. Insert a picture of the head leader of your country.

Activity #4 Students will learn different songs about the continents to help them remember the seven continents. Insert a picture that illustrates some part of your country’s economy.

Activity #5 Students will complete their own world map. They will label the blank seven continents. They will color the map. Insert a picture of one of the points of interest for your country.

Continents Poem CONTINENTS TOUR ZEBRAS live in Africa LIONS and ELEPHANTS, too. Australia is down under, Home of the KANGAROO! Clap your hands for Asia! It's the largest one. Antarctica is covered in ice. The PENGUINS sure have fun! North America is where I live. It's where I work and play. In Europe you'll find England, Where the queen rules every day. South America is home to Brazil. It's the largest country there. The world has seven continents, And I've just named them with care!

Continents Songs (Tune to "Did You Ever See a Lassie?") Do you know the continents? the continents? the continents? Do you know the continents. There are seven in all. There is ASIA and EUROPE and AFRICA and AUSTRALIA There is NORTH and SOUTH AMERICA and ANTARCTICA, too. (Tune to "Are You Sleeping?") Where is ASIA? Where is EUROPE? Where is AFRICA? Where is AUSTRALIA? Where is NORTH AMERICA? Where is SOUTH AMERICA? Where is ANTARCTICA? Where are the continents? Here is ASIA? Here is EUROPE? Here is AFRICA? Here is AUSTRALIA? Here is NORTH AMERICA? Here is SOUTH AMERICA? Here is ANTARCTICA? Here are the continents? (Tune to "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands") We've got ASIA and EUROPE in our hands, We've got AFRICA and AUSTRALIA in our hands, We've got NORTH and SOUTH AMERICA in our hands. We've got the whole WORLD in our hands. We've got six huge continents in our hands. We've got six huge continents in our hands. We've got six huge continents in our hands. But where is number seven? It's at the south point of the globe -- yes, it is. It's at the south point of the globe -- yes, it is. It's at the south point of the globe -- yes, it is. And it's called ANTARCTICA.
