Anbalayam - Before TNF’s Involvement Anbalayam (Loving Temple) is home for about 60 orphaned special needs children in Sirkali (Nagapattinam District) The children were living in a dilapidated hallway and their godmother Mrs. Meerabai Egambaram was struggling to provide food, clothes, and shelter to the children The government subsidy for the children was cancelled because of lack of proper facility

TNF’s Partnership with Anbalayam Selected Milestones 2006 December - Land bought under TNF’s name with funds raised by the Philadelphia Tamil community 2008 June – Children move to their new home. 3,000 sq.ft. building with playground, garden, toilets and kitchen 2009 – First floor built by the Government of Tamil Nadu 2012 – Corpus fund for food initiated by Tamil Sangam of Central Indiana 2013 – Government of India grant for vocational training 2014 – Dallas based Sastha Tamil Foundation establishes “Angel Janani” project (a corpus fund) to help Anbalayam 2014 – Stage Friends (USA) dedicated three performances in NJ, NY and Philadelphia to build class rooms for the children 2015 – TSCI Home for toddlers and boys inaugurated ATMA Health care corpus fund established and weekly visit by a physician arranged 2016 – Streamlined the managing of monthly operating expenses (care givers’ salary, food deficit, medical expenses etc.,) through interest generated from the corpus fund Other supporting partners – Ayyappa devotees in Pittsburgh area, CT Rhythms, Michigan , Boston and Connecticut communities and numerous individual donors from various parts of the U.S.
