Component Identification Board Game Counter Digital Electronics TM 1.1 Foundations and The Board Game Counter Component Identification This presentation will… Introduce the Board Game Counter. Review the theory of operation for the Board Game Counter. Review all the parts that make up the Board Game Counter. Introductory Slide / Overview of Presentation Project Lead The Way, Inc. Board Game Counter The complete Board Game Counter. Digital Electronics TM 1.1 Foundations and The Board Game Counter Board Game Counter The complete Board Game Counter. It looks likes a single dice (i.e. die), but it is not. In some parts of the United States, playing with dice is considered gambling and should not be discussed in a public school in the presence of minors. So remember, this is a board game counter, like you would use to play Sorry or Candy-Land. Any resemblance to a dice game is purely coincidental. Project Lead The Way, Inc. Copyright 2009

Board Game Counter Block Diagram Digital Electronics TM 1.1 Foundations and The Board Game Counter Board Game Counter Block Diagram Analog Section Sequential Logic Combinational 1 2 3 4 5 6 This slide reviews the theory of operation for the Board Game Counter. The Analog Section produces a dampened square wave that “rolls” the count and slowly stops. On every pulse of the clock, the Sequential Logic Section increments a binary count from 1 to 6, then repeats. The Combinational Logic Section encodes the binary count into the die’s seven “dots.” Project Lead The Way, Inc. Copyright 2009
