Complete 3 grids throughout the fortnight as well! Can you complete each box in under 3 minutes? The times table you are practicing this week are the 6, 8, and 4’s! Try to read a wide range of materials such as information books, poems, stories, reports, recipes, instructions etc. Record your reading in your diary everyday. Your spellings for this fortnight are to be learnt for a test the week beginning Monday 28th November 2016. Reminder: We are following a new spelling scheme, which focusses on the rules of spelling, rather than just learning the words. This means the spelling home learning has changed slightly. They will have 1 or 2 rules to learn each fortnight with some suggested spellings. However, they may be tested on words not from the suggested spellings but that follow the rule. To learn the rule, they must complete 2 spelling activities for each rule. The number of spellings you do is up to you. You can do the suggested spellings and you can find your own ones that follow the rule too. We have explained this to the children in class, but if you do have any questions please ask. Last week’s winners of our spelling competition was Rembrandt with a class average of 8.8!!!! Additional Activities – YOU MUST DO ALL THE FIRST 2 ACTIVITIES AND THE LAST ONE IS OPTIONAL: Write a poem for Anti-bullying week. Be creative and present in an imaginative way, if you can. Write a letter of application to the UK Space Agency to become an astronaut. What personal qualities or skills would you need to carry out this role? Optional: Unfortunately the Super moon was a bit of a washout, due to very cloudy conditions. However, we would still like to run a photograph competition. You can take a picture of anything you like, but it cannot contain people. You must email your picture or bring in on a memory stick. The winner will have their photograph made into a canvas to display in the Year Group. Good luck.
