Goals Familiarize and help you jump into photography or being a historian Make you a better photographer Create a finer understanding on how to take better pictures! Provide tips that can BENEFIT you in the future Have a GOOD TIME and provide a workshop that is both FUN and EDUCATIONAL! Run-down on how and what we will be doing/explaining through the presentation

Get to know us! - Valerie Valerie Manzano, D35W Junior @ West Covina HS Club Historian ‘15-’17 What I Like: Dogs Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Creating things (graphics,videos, etc.) Valerie explains a little bit about herself.

Audience WHO are we speaking to? We’ll specialize in skills that pertain to historians and club editors but we aim to enhance your skills as a photographer. Basically, EVERYONE! Explaining what/who this workshop is geared toward to. 5

Knowing Your Camera Type of camera? DSLR, Point and Shoot, Phone! Camera settings - ISO, aperture, shutter speed How settings correlate to each other Auto vs. Manual! Preparing for a picture Explain different types of cameras, settings, and how everything works together.

Taking Pictures QUALITY > QUANTITY You don’t need a camera to capture KEY moments Work with what you have! Phone Camera Horizontal vs Vertical AVOID spamming FOCUS on taking the perfect shot! How to take good pictures. Ie, framing, lighting, pre/post work, etc.

Communication & Responsibility Communication is KEY. People are relying on YOU! Responsibility is always appreciated and needed to fulfill your position. You are responsible for meeting DEADLINES! How to be responsible with your job as a leader and as a key cluber.

Publicity Be familiar with GRAPHIC STANDARDS Follow appropriate guidelines for promotion on social networks NOTIFY members of upcoming events Fliers, Posters, and other media BE CONSISTENT and on top of things! “Keep in mind that you are a visual outlet that allows others to see what key club is and what we do” Explain how to go about with publicity work and what is right or wrong.

Capturing the Essence of Key Action shots vs Posed shots Allows members to look back on accomplishments and all that they did to serve their community AVOID posting pictures that are unassociated to key club ex) derps, excessive shots, etc. These pictures and YOU are representing Key Club Explain how pictures give insights on community service.
