FAMILY TO FAMILY WHAT IS IT? Adventist families getting involved in witnessing. Family center of evangelistic activities in church. Meets needs of various age groups. Uses intercessory prayer. A new lifestyle for all Adventist. Family to Family: What is it? It is a project that strengthens Adventist families by involving them in witnessing for others. It’s aimed at making the family the center of evangelistic activities in our churches. Its chief objective is to meet the needs of the various age groups ranging from childhood to adulthood. It highlights the importance of intercessory prayer. It is meant to become the lifestyle of every Adventist family.

THE VISION “In visions of the night, representations passed before me of a great reformatory movement among God's people. Many were praising God. The sick were healed, and other miracles were wrought. A spirit of intercession was seen, even as was manifested before the great Day of Pentecost. Hundreds and thousands were seen visiting families and opening before them the word of God. Hearts were convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit, and a spirit of genuine conversion was manifest. On every side doors were thrown open to the proclamation of the truth. The world seemed to be lightened with the heavenly influence. Great blessings were received by the true and humble people of God. I heard voices of thanksgiving and praise, and there seemed to be a reformation such as we witnessed in 1844.” Testimonies, Vol. 9, p. 126 Ellen G. White, in Testimonies Vol. 9, p. 126, had a vision whereby entire families were introduced to the power of God’s Word. The foundation of Family to Family is expressed in the book Evangelism, p. 432. There is a powerful and special work for families in winning souls for Christ.

ITS FOUNDATION “Wherever you can gain access to the people by the fireside, improve your opportunity. Take your Bible, and open before them its great truths. Your success will not depend so much upon your knowledge and accomplishments, as upon your ability to find your way to the heart.” Evangelism, pgs. 436 and 437. “There is a work to be done in this line that has not yet been done. Let God's workers teach the truth in families, drawing close to those for whom they labor. If they thus co-operate with God, He will clothe them with spiritual power. Christ will guide them in their work, entering the houses of the people with them, and giving them words to speak that will sink deep into the hearts of the listeners. The Holy Spirit will open hearts and minds to receive the rays coming from the source of all light.” Evangelism, p. 436. Its foundation In these passages there is compelling counsel from Spirit of Prophecy for Families to use the family circle in teaching families about the liberating good news of the gospel.

FAMILY TO FAMILY: Preparation Friendship Integration HOW IT WORKS? Three phases: Preparation Friendship Integration Family to Family: How it works? Family to Family is easy to implement and can become the lifestyle of all Seventh-day Adventists. There are 3 phases: Preparation Friendship Integration

PHASE 1: Preparation The first phase is Preparation. It is helpful if the local Division, Union, Conference, or local church launches the initial campaign to help create synergy and excitement. Select a Family or Families. Register Selected Families. Choose a special day or Sabbath for fasting and prayer. The first phase is Preparation. It is helpful if the local Division, Union, Conference, or local church launches the initial campaign to help create synergy and excitement. Select a Family or Families. Each church family chooses one or more families in their community, neighborhood, or work to pray for. Register Selected Families. Families complete registration forms provided by the church or index cards with families name and contact information. Choose a special day or Sabbath for fasting and prayer. The church pastor and/or family ministries team selects a special day for prayer and fasting. This day is specially for families to prepare themselves to be used by God to share the gospel with other families.
