We decided to create our own Carnival at Slater School – inspired by the one in Rio De Janeiro.

To prepare we created colourful head dresses and learnt a Brazilian dance – the Samba.

The Samba beat and bright colours made us all very happy The Samba beat and bright colours made us all very happy! The fast beat got us ALL in a carnival spirit!

After our preparations we celebrated our Carnival After our preparations we celebrated our Carnival. We all enjoyed the Samba music – even Mrs Tester!!

Finally, we made and tried a Brazilian cake. Because of the chocolate chips, the cake is called an Anthill cake. Sadly, our chocolate chips sank to the bottom. We all still enjoyed it though!!

We learnt lots about Brazil… It is in South America. That it’s the biggest country in the continent. That one of the continents major cities – Rio De Janeiro is there.
