Typical “Timeline” for PhD program Year 1, Fall Life Science 1, 3 credits Math Course 1, 3 credits Statistics, 3 credits BIOENG 2900 (grant writing,) 1 credit BioE Seminar, 1 credit BIOENG 3997, 4 credits Year 1, Spring Life Science 2, 3 credits Track Course 1, 3 credits BIOENG 3997, 8 credits (PhD Preliminary Exam taken in summer after the first full year of graduate study has been completed.) Year 2, Fall Teaching Practicum 1, 1 credit Elective 1, 3 credits Track Course 2, 3 credits Year 2, Spring Track Course 3, 3 credits Elective 2, 3 credits Non-BioE Seminar, 1 credit BIOENG 3997, 7 credits Year 3, Fall BioE Ethics 3 credits Non-BioE Seminar 1 credit TA Practicum 2 ,1 credit BIOENG 3997, 10 credits PhD Proposal Defense to occur after this term.
