Le Subjonctif Après un Superlatif Verbes: page 410 & 411

The subjunctive is used to modify superlatives or an expression such as le seul, le premier, le dernier, or personne and rien. These expressions indicate uniqueness and the speaker’s opinion rather than a fact. C’est la meilleure chanson que je connaisse. C’est la plus belle femme que j’aie jamais vue. Tu es la seule personne qui me comprenne. Il n’y a rien que tu puisses me dire.

If there is no idea of uniqueness stating the speaker’s opinion, then the subjunctive is not used. Il n’y avait personne à la fête. C’est le dernier film que j’ai vu.
