Preparing for Week 8: Resources and Costs Read appropriate sections of BMG and SOM Four categories of resources: Financial, physical, intellectual, human capital Intellectual property protection. Patents my not be the best option. Consider copyrights, trade secrets, contracts (NDAs), trademarks. Costs: Fixed costs? Variable costs? How to add up costs. How much would it take in terms of sales to achieve a break even? How long would it take? How much will this cost? Is this a business worth doing? Example of slide with lots of text

Presentation for Week 8: Resources and Costs S1 -- Cover slide S2 – Business Model Canvas – changes highlighted in red. S3 – “Metrics that matter” people, hardware, software, prototypes, financing, etc. What resources do you need to build the business? When will you need them? Roll up all costs from partners, resources, and activities in spreadsheet by time. S4 – What did you learn about your resources? Here’s what we thought, what we did, what we found, what we’ll do next. Example of slide with lots of text
