12 & 13YO Classroom Rules & Regulations Brown, Kloosterman & Warner

Devices The classroom is a device free zone… No Phones No Tablets No Computers No Headphones Except… When the teacher advises (Kindle reader only or Nook).

Literature Students are strongly encouraged to bring a novel to class daily (book talk/teacher approved). 10 book-talks during the 2017-18 school year. Presentations will be once a month (Prezi or Powerpoint). See rubric handout.

Language Arts-Writing Brainstorming and prewriting must be hand written. Editing, writing, revising can be handwritten or typed. However documents must be printed for editing. Email drafts to your teacher the night before. Final drafts must be typed. Typing will be done outside of class (unless otherwise noted). MLA Formatting is required. 12 pt. Times New Roman font, A4 Paper, double spaced etc.

Supplies Students will need the following supplies: 1 - 3 Ring Binder with a plastic front and back cover (at least 1-1.5 inches). 1 – Pack of plastic sheet protectors (A4) 1 – Pack of notecards (flash cards). For purchases, see stationery stores or Taobao.

What happens if I don’t follow the rules? Verbal warning 1:1 with Teacher Parent contact (phone and email, etc.) Parent, Teacher and DI meeting
