Before I die by: Jenny Downham Genre: teens

Tessa is a 16 year old girl, who has terminal cancer Tessa is a 16 year old girl, who has terminal cancer. She has only a few months left to live, so she writes down certain things she wants to do before she dies like for example: driving a car or having sex.

The book is told in the main charters point of view The book is told in the main charters point of view. She tells use how hard it is to live with cancer and having to go in and out of the hospital.

There are many conflicts in this novel for example: that she wants to live before she dies. She makes a list and she almost got done with the ten things that she wants to do but then she decides to just give up and just lay there and die.

An example of direct charterization is when they tell us how old Tessa is.(ex.” I am a 16 year old that has cancer”).

What I like about the book!! I like that Tessa always look towards the future and the positives in live .she always had a way of loving everybody around her and getting to love her as well.

What I disliked about the book. I disliked that she always wanted to have sex and she always was mean to her brother. She never gave her dad any respect .I really wish the book would have ended different because I really wanted to know how she thought about the baby..
