Applying for Disciplines Multiple Firms may be selected for each Functional Discipline. Respondents must specifically apply for consideration for a Specific Discipline. The same selected firm may be contracted to provide project assignments on more than one discipline should the University determine the Respondent qualified to provide services. Respondents shall include multiple discipline qualifications in Respondent’s submittal of Section 5.

INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES Section 2.3.1 Interior Design services projects shall include, but are not limited to space planning; furniture, fixtures, and equipment selection; finish selection; window treatment; architectural details; millwork details; green building practices; coordination of MEP systems; code compliance; significant historical interiors; and Texas Accessibility Standards. Types of projects can include: locker rooms, office - landscape and executive, retail, social gathering spaces, and restrooms.

Environmental Survey, Testing, Design, Geotechnical and/or Monitoring Section 2.3.2 Examples: Asbestos, lead, mold, hazardous materials, soil contamination, water quality, etc. Projects shall include, but will not be limited to, surveying and testing existing locations for asbestos containing materials, lead, mold or other hazardous conditions; developing construction bid information for the abatement remediation of the above; and on-site monitoring of the actual removal / abatement of the hazardous materials. Geotechnical engineering/survey services will include, but not be limited to, site survey, soil testing and analysis report. Fire Systems and Life Safety   Section 2.3.3 Projects shall include fire alarm engineering, fire sprinkler engineering, fire and life/safety code compliance, and fire alarm and sprinkler third party testing (new and renovation). Sub-Disciplines: Fire Alarm Engineering Fire Sprinkler Engineering Fire and Life Safety Code Compliance Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Third Party Testing

Testing, Adjusting & Balancing Section 2.3.4 Examples: HVAC, FUME HOOD, Etc. Projects shall include, but will not be limited to, HVAC systems (water/air sides), building pressurization, exhaust hood balancing and controls, diagnosis of existing conditions and recommended solutions, diagnosis of existing conditions for solutions to newly-renovated spaces.

TDLR RAS Review Section 2.3.5 These services are those in which a Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) provides review, inspection and consultation services. Projects subject to State of Texas Architectural Barriers Act shall be registered with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) by PMCS. Work may include performing accessibility surveys and studies of various campus facilities. RAS shall have demonstrated knowledge in plan review and inspection reporting, and with TDLR processes and procedures. Projects subject to TDLR Architectural registration are registered by PMCS. The registration package (the issued construction documents, TDLR registration confirmation, and Proof of Submission) is submitted to a Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) for plan review and inspection. The RAS is to provide his/her plan review within 30 days of the submittal. Inspection reports are expected within 30 days of the inspection date.

Signage/Wayfinding Design Section 2.3.6 The University of Texas has signage standards for Interior ADA Room Signage and Exterior Wayfinding Signage guidelines. While the use for each category is in most cases clearly defined, projects may also include larger scale requests in the following specialty areas: Interior Wayfinding Signage and Graphics Development of Interactive Wayfinding Solutions Exterior Wayfinding Signage and Graphics Donor Recognition Programs Place-making Elements Identity Development Details for each specialty area is described in Section 2.3.6

Cost Estimating Section 2.3.7 Cost estimating services projects shall include, but are not limited to budgetary estimating for Rough Order of Magnitude, conceptual estimates and detailed design estimates based on the project information that is available.

Project Commissioning Section 2.3.8 Projects shall include, but will not be limited to, full commissioning scope, limited commissioning scope, functional performance testing, and training verification.
