Processing “Critical” Patient Care Objects Classification: Critical objects enter normally sterile tissue or vascular system, or through which blood flows. Object: Sterility. Examples: Surgical instruments and devices; cardiac catheters; implants; etc. Method: Steam, gas, hydrogen peroxide plasma or chemical sterilization.
