The Erasmus Programme (European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) is a European Union students exchange programme established in 1987.  Erasmus Plus, (2014-2020) is the new programme combining all the EU's current schemes for education, training, youth and sport. What is "ERASMUS+" ? No matter where you're from, what you do, or how old you are, it's never too late to discover what Erasmus+ could mean for you  http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/ Is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport, for over 4 million Europeans to study, train gain experience, and volunteers abroad.  Set to last until 2020, Erasmus+ doesn't just have opportunities for students. Merging seven prior programmes, it has opportunities for a wide variety of individuals and organisations.

What are the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme? the sustainable development of Partner Countries in the field of higher education; the objectives of the Europe 2020 Strategy, including the headline education target;  the overall objectives of the renewed framework for European cooperation in the youth field (2010-2018);   the objective of developing the European dimension in sport, in particular grassroots sport, in line with the EU work plan for sport

The Programme Guide  This Programme Guide is a tool for everybody who would like to have a real knowledge of what the Eramus+ Programme is about.This document is mainly addressed to those who wish to be: participating organisations; Participants( students,adult learners, young people, volunteers...) for most Actions, all the rules and conditions for receiving a grant from the Programme are specified in this Programme Guide; for some other Actions, which are only mentioned in this Programme Guide, the rules and conditions for receiving a grant are described in specific calls for proposals published by or on behalf of the European Commission.

What about founding?

Type and level of founding Mobility projects for higher education students. Eu grant for each trainee ranging from 300 to 700 € per month and travel costs of up to 1.100 €.  Mobility projects for vocational education and training lerners. Eu support for each trainee ranging from 18 to 112€ per day and travel costs of up 1.100€.  Joint master degrees. Grants of 2€ to 3 million, covering 4 to 5 year projects.  Strategic partnership. Grants of maximum €300.000 for Partnerships lasting 2 years and €450.000 for Partnerships lasting 3 years.  Knowledge alliances. Grants of € 700.000 for a 2-year alliance; 1 million for 3 year alliance.  European sport events. Grants of up to €2 million for sport event involving participants from at least 12 programme countries. 

Example(s) of some projects European Master in Tourism Management (EMTM)  EMTM students follow an obligatory mobility path at 3 universities (1st semester at University of Southern Denmark; 2nd semester at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia ; 3rd semester at University of Girona). The fourth semester is dedicated to writing the master thesis.  http://www.emtmmaster.net/ HECTOR- Educational programmes for managing European Cultural Routes  The partners will work during two years on the identification and the development of educational programmes in the field of heritage and cultural tourism management related to Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. It involves the University of Paris 1 Sorbonne, the University of Barcelona, the University of Bologna and the Fondazione Federico II. http://culture-routes.net/projects/european-projects/hector-project
