Laparoscopic Ventral Hernia Repair – IPOM plus

Port positions

Infra-umbilical incisional hernia with omental adhesions

Adhesiolysis

Division of median umbilical ligament & mobilisation of urinary bladder

Defect closure Needle introduced through a stab wound made below the defect

Defect closure- intracorporeal continuous suturing

Defect closure in two layers

Suture pulled out using a suture passer needle introduced through the same stab wound and is tied extracorporeally

Composite mesh is introduced through 10mm trocar and spread out

Mesh is fixed by midline transfacial sutures and intracorporeal sutures

Completed repair
