Reading We use a balanced literacy approach. We use shared reading, guided reading, mentor texts, word study and many other language experiences. We encourage you to help your child by saying the following questions at the point of error. Does that look right? Does that sound right? Does that make sense? Daily Five

Write Every Day We teach through the Writing Workshop model. Help your child by calling attention to moments that you experience with your child. It can be anything from a trip, the lizard that ran by the back door, to the long line at the grocery store. Help them think about the event and tell a story out loud. This will help them think through an idea and have content for their stories they write in class. Encourage independent stretch and spell.
