Agritourism & Societal Well-being Lab What does agritourism mean? Farming-related activities carried out in a working farm or other agricultural settings for recreation or education. Type of experience Direct or Indirect contact with farm resources Authentic or staged Recreation or Education Link to agriculture Working agricultural facilities So, 2 requirements: I guess that everyone in this room, kind of have an idea of what AT means? That definion has been used for a while, but it posits a question... What if... Having a mutual understanding of the meaning of AT Agritourism & Societal Well-being Lab

Why Agritourism? Why in Moldova? 1. Helps to preserve family farming: Increases farm income Creates paid jobs for family members Facilitates farm succession 2. Promotes rural development & conservation: Preserves rural landscapes & biological corridors Revitalizes the economies of surrounding localities Promotes consumption of local products It is a sustainable development strategy for areas with strong agriculture & high-quality craft products (e.g., wine)
