The Romans had an army, where people from different country's like Spain, Greece, Britain and France would fight each other. Did you know? Did you know that in the Roman times France was called Gaul?

the roman empire. Rome was a republic before it became an empire-it was governed in a different way, and had rulers that were elected through votes. The roman empire began in 27bc,and after that one emperor would rule it until he died. The first emperor was Caesar Augustus.

Roman weapons Gladius-sword The gladius was very important. It was light and no longer than 50 cm long. So it was easy for stabbing. Pugio-dagger The pugio [dagger], was a small knife used by roman soldiers as a sidearm.it was worn on left side.

mosaics The floors of roman buildings were often richly decorated with mosaics-tiny coloured stones[tesserae].Mosaic floors were a statement of wealth and importance.

Chariot racing Chariot racing was one of the most popular ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine sports. Chariot racing was dangerous because it can cause injuries or even death.

Roman numerals Roman numerals were invented as the romans needed a system to easily price different goods and services. The romans adopted the numeral system from their predecessors in central Italy, the Etruscans, they simply adapted and improved the system.
