Beekeeping Development Project (BDP) Purpose of the project: The Project aims to reinforce capacities of the Beekeeping value Chain in Afghanistan, in order to increase Food security and income generation especially in remote areas.   Specific Objectives To increase honey production and commercialization for national and regional markets. To create jobs To promote professionals organization To increase orchards’ production

Constraints & Challenges Registration of beekeepers’ national union was a lengthy process and took more time. Identification of tools for honey quality control lab took more time and it is under procurement process now Poor Coordination among different stakeholders Poor quality of inputs in the market Existence of pests and diseases Marketing problem of product and low income Lack of quality control Problem on standardization
