Art and Design Portfolio By: Skylar Evans

Introduction My name is Skylar Evans. I am 23 years old and I am pursuing my career in art and design. I started drawing since I could use my hands and I have stuck with it throughout my life. It is my passion and my dream to become a designer. My portfolio consists of a wide variety of creative work that I have created, designed and accomplished throughout my collegiate and professional career. My inspiration comes from my mother who is extremely gifted in the field of design. She has been successful in just about every type of design possible including, graphic design, interior design, floral design, landscape design, and product design. She is currently a business woman who designs play products for children. My artwork shows that I can produce work in many different mediums and it also shows I have knowledge in contour, texture, shadowing, color theory and art history. My interior design work shows that I can produce the perfect balance of furniture, color, and accessories. I like to summarize my style using three words: glamour, warmth and comfort. My work also shows that I can successfully design and draw a layout plan for a space. With my experience, knowledge and skills I believe I am the best candidate for my field of design.

Courses PD 101 and PD 223 Projects not pictured Two other major projects were done in these courses that are not pictured here. The first, coming from PD 101 was a bike rack that was completely designed and made from scratch in the woodshop. Our assignment was to design our bike rack, build it and sell it on campus. The second project coming from PD 223 was a Nike track and field shoe I designed from scratch. We were to present a total of 100 drawings of our chosen product to the professor and then pick our design from those 100 drawings. My final shoe was light weight yet supportive and attractive to the eye. I focused my attention mainly on designing enough fly wire and support within the shoe to enhance performance on the track.

Thank you for viewing my work
