Perinatal statistics: parturients, deliveries and newborns 2015 In 2015, a total of 55 759 infants were born in Finland. The number of infants born in 2015 was 2046 ( 3,5%) lower than in 2014. This declining trend has continued now for five consecutive years. The mean age of primiparas was 28.8 years in 2015. In 2015, the proportion of parturients aged 35 and over was 20,8 per cent. The proportion of parturients aged 35 and over was the highest in the hospital district of Helsinki and Uusimaa (25 %). Every third child was born in HUS hospitals. There were 82 deliveries on the way to hospital and 104 other unplanned deliveries outside hospital, the total number of deliveries outside hospital being 186.
