The software used to make the octopus What is BLENDER ? The software used to make the octopus

blender Blender is a professional free and open-source 3D computer graphics software product used for creating animated films, visual effects, art, 3D printed models, interactive 3D applications and video games.

How do you make an octopus on blender ???

Step 1 Delete the default cube, switch to top ortho view (numpad 7, numpad 5) and add a circle mesh (add>mesh>circle).

Step 2 Set the number of vertices to 8, then switch to front view (numpad 1) and enter edit mode. All the vertices should be selected.

Step 3 Extrude up (E, Z, drag, enter). Extrude up again the scale (S) the selected points to make the neck of the octopus.

Step4 Switch to face select mode, select a vertical face then extrude it (e)

Step 5 Drag the blue arrow down to make the circle about 1/3 of its original height. That will be the neck.

Step 6 Press 7 to change to top view after selecting one of the side faces.

Step 7 Press E to extrude the face and drag it out a small amount the press R to rotate the face so the legs look more realistic. Repeat 5-10 times trying to make it look like a real octopus leg.

Step 8 Repeat this for each face on the side of the circle varying the direction of the legs.

Step 9 Select the top face of the circle to make the head and press E to extrude and S to scale (repeat). Try to make the head circular and realistic.

Step 10 Return to objective mode and click smooth which is located in the left side toolbar.

Step 11 Now add a material under the material tab in the right toolbar. Name the new material octopus and choose a colour.

Step 12 Add another circle and scale (Press S) it to eye size, then rotate 90 degrees as shown and duplicate using the right toolbar.

Step 13 Move them onto the octopus’ face and then add a new material (shown earlier) to each and choose a colour.

Basic octopus complete!
