Masters in Urban Education World Language Specialization Spanish

Goals of the program This is a comprehensive program for those who are presently teaching Spanish who wish to strengthen their knowledge and skills and for those interested in becoming teachers of Spanish. The goal of this program is to develop world language teacher leaders who demonstrate: A high level of Spanish proficiency; A knowledge of the Spanish language and the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world, and A strong pedagogical preparation

Masters in World Language Education The program includes: Methodology Language & Linguistics The Culture of the Spanish speaking world Assessment Advocacy Skills

Program Designed was Based on the ACTFL Professional Development Standards Standard 1: Language Proficiency Standard 2: Cultures, Linguistics, Literatures, and Concepts from Other Disciplines Standard 3: Language Acquisition Theories & Knowledge of Students and Their Needs Standard 4: Integration of Standards Standard 5: Assessment of Languages & Cultures- Impact on Student Learning Standard 6: Professional Development, Advocacy & Ethics
