Merafong City Local Municipality consists of 3 systems CARLETONVILLE Khutsong Welverdiend Blybank FOCHVILLE Kokosi Greenspark WEDELA

SAMPLING POINT Sampling points were chosen randomly by our former manager and not according to SANS 241 Merafong Municipality consist of 40 sampling points which are all taken once a month. Sampling point are close to each other and dead ends were not identified by Merafong. Samples are taken at the reservoir outlet but not at the end of each town or township where the water quality is expected to be poor. Samples are taken where a large population is expected.

Procedure Followed When Appointing An Accredited Lab An accredited Lab is allocated thought a Tender procedure : Advertisement which requires a service provider to quote for a budget for sampling monitoring Once the Municipality has chosen an accredited lab with the lowest prices it get appointed to analyze our potable water . (A memorandum of understanding include resampling if it happens that there is a non complaint)
